A national association’s local Florida chapter held an impromptu fundraiser for a local candidate during a previously scheduled monthly members’ meeting. As the event included food and beverages, the issue of a potential in-kind contribution to the candidate’s campaign was raised.
We researched the applicable Florida campaign regulations, discussed the issue with a representative of the Florida Ethics Commission, and advised the client accordingly.
